HTC 10 Now Receiving Android 8.0 Oreo Update

On the pool of Updates, HTC refused to be left behind by bringing Android 8.0 Oreo update to its HTC 10. The Smartphone was Launched in April 2016, the HTC 10 was originally running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It got an update to Android 7.0 Nougat in February last year.

HTC 10 has started receiving its Android 8.0 Oreo update. The new update is rolling out in batches as an over-the-air (OTA) package for unlocked units of the HTC 10.

HTC 10 Now Receiving Android 8.0 Oreo Update

The Android Oreo update for the HTC 10 brings the software version 3.16.617.2. It includes Android 8.0 Oreo along with default features such as Instant Apps, new Quick Settings menu, Notification dots, Picture in Picture (PiP) mode, and Smart Autofill, among various others. The update is also expected to include the latest Android security patch.

You can check its availability by going to Settings > About > Software updates. You can manually install the update by downloading the 1.8GB RUU package that is available on the official HTC site. The manual process will wipe the data on your device. Therefore, it is recommended to back up the data locally before beginning with the RUU.
